Pyramid Educational Consultants of Australia P/L are now approved members of the Early Intervention Service Provider Panel under the Helping Children with Autism package. The services we offer under this package include the following:

CONSULTATION

Families may use FaHCSIA funding to access regular PECS/Pyramid intervention with one of our consultants. Intervention can focus on communication alone, or incorporate the teaching of additional skills using the Pyramid Approach to Education.

Pyramid are happy to provide PECS Start-Up and Check-Up and also sessions of intensive teaching to develop PECS and other critical communication skills: e.g. direction and schedule following, learning to 'wait', to ask for 'help' or for a 'break' and answering 'yes' and 'no'.

Home Consultation: Pyramid consultants are able to come out to your home for intervention, Australia wide.
Educational Setting: Pyramid consultants are able to come out to your child's educational setting for intervention, Australia wide.

Distance Consultation: Consultation services may be accessed via web cam or telephone. Please contact the Pyramid office for technical requirements.

 

PECS INTENSIVE PROGRAM

The Intensive Program focuses on the implementation of PECS for learners aged 3-7 years. The program is appropriate for learners that have never used PECS, as well as those learners who are currently struggling with progression through the phases. The program generally runs for a period of 1 week, with learners attending the program for six hours each day for a total of 5 days. Your learner will work on communication skills across settings, with different communication partners to make a variety of comments and requests. It is not uncommon for the learner to engage in over 200 communicative exchanges per day at the program. Parents must have attended the PECS Basic Training.

WORKSHOPS

All of Pyramid Australia's workshops attended by parents/guardians are covered using FaHCSIA funding. Please refer to the training workshops tab for more information on the workshops offered.

 

PRODUCTS

Products which are required for a child's intervention program may be purchased using FaHCSIA funding. These products must be used directly by the child as part of an intervention program currently being accessed under the Helping Children with Autism package. Up to 35% of FaHCSIA funding can be used on appropriate resources to a maximum of $4200.00 in total ($2100.00 per financial year).
